Welcome to the Reading Roadshow

The Reading Road Show is a mobile literacy program that provides an opportunity for children and their families to share story time and participate in a book exchange program. The Gus Bus is the Reading Road Show’s mobile literacy vehicle. Look for the Gus Bus in your neighborhood and learn about this wonderful opportunity for the whole family!

Cool fact: In 2012 approximately 5,370 visits were made to the Gus Bus by children during neighborhood stops in Harrisonburg, Rockingham County, and Page County! The Gus Bus also distributed approximately 5,023 food bags!

Interested in learning more about the Gus Bus program and its volunteering opportunities? Check out the video below! We are currently looking for volunteers to help on the Gus Bus at neighborhood stops, help at our afterschool programming at two local elementary schools, and work as a tutor for elementary aged students.
