COVID-19 Information

We know this is a challenging time for everyone and hope you and your family are healthy and well.  Our clinic has resumed client activities, and we are taking the necessary precautions to do this safely. This includes screening clients before their appointment, clients and staff wearing masks and social distancing, disinfecting materials and all areas of the clinic, using plexiglass dividers, and continuing telehealth interviews with parents/guardians.  If you have questions or would like to make a referral, you can reach the clinic by calling (540) 568-6687 or sending an email to jmusvcdc@jmu.edu

The Shenandoah Valley Child Development Clinic (CDC)

is committed to providing comprehensive interdisciplinary assessments for children and adolescents who are suspected of having developmental delays and/or disabilities. Our staff offers medical, psychological, educational, and social evaluations to assist in determining a child’s needs. Recommendations are generated from the evaluation for parents and professionals to assist with care planning, referrals, follow-up care coordination, and intervention services.

The CDC provides interdisciplinary evaluations for children/adolescents with:

  • Developmental Delays
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Specific Learning Disabilities
  • Intellectual Disability
  • Behavioral/Emotional Disorders
  • Other Disorders or Disabilities
  • Gifted Evaluations (also available)
