Support the Reading Road Show and Help Us #GetGusThere

James Madison University's Reading Road Show, affectionately known as "the Gus Bus," is a nationally recognized literacy and learning program that delivers its services directly to children in low-income neighborhoods in Harrisonburg City and Rockingham and Page Counties.

In 2016, the Reading Road Show was named a National Arts and Humanities Youth Program awardee by former First Lady Michelle Obama, reflecting the program's innovative and valuable contributions to the community.

Wouldn't it be incredible if more children in our community could experience the Gus Bus? The National Endowment for the Humanities has pledged a matching grant of $100,000 over the next two years to expand the program. To receive this money, we must raise an equal amount. In other words, every dollar our community contributes will be matched one for one. In our first year we raised $31,215.11! Our deadline for raising the second $50,000 is May 1, 2019.

We cannot miss out on this extraordinary opportunity to bring money into our community that will sustain and grow the Gus Bus program. And we cannot do this without your help! Take on the challenge with us! Together we can get Gus there! #getgusthere
